CPVFUG proudly presents Kevin Goff, Principal, Common Ground Solutions,
2005 Microsoft MVP for .NET/C#
NEW DATE/TIME:  TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 7PM!!!!
LOCATION: WinGate Inn, Harrisburg, PA
For some time, Foxpro developers have always wondered when the Fox will be done. Well, that end is no where in site, as Microsoft just released VFP9 and although there have been no announcements for VFP10 yet, just looking at the support cycle will show that VFP8 is supported until 2010, so common sense would tell you that the recently released VFP9 will be supported most likely until 2012 or more. So if the Foxpro development world at Microsoft came to a halt today, you'd still have good tools to use for another 7-8 years!
That being said, it's still ALWAYS a good idea to be diverse in your offerings/skillset and expand/increase your depth when you can.  Certainly the Microsoft .NET framework is here for many years to come and learning it is in every developer's best interest.  I personally love doing VFP work but am still interesting in learning new things, and .NET is one of them.  So who better to tell us about the path that a VFP developer takes when learning .NET than one who has already walked that road? Enter Kevin Goff, who was recently named 2005 Microsoft MVP for .NET/C#. CPVFUG is excited to have him share his experiences with us.
Kevin will talk about his migration from Fox to .NET.  He’ll share his practical experiences and the knowledge base that he has accumulated along the way, and also the best books/on-line sources, etc.
It's a completely free meeting. Please RSVP for this event to Michael Babcock (CPVFUG President) at mbabcock@mbsoftwaresolutions.com.
Thank you...hope to see you there!
